Thanks for joining me!

The more you know about a species, the more you understand about how better to help protect them. – Alan Clark

I am doing a Masters in Conservation Behaviour in Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) in Galway city, run by Dr. Martin Gammell and Dr. Joanne O’Brien from the Marine and Freshwater Research Centre (MFRC). This Masters teaches us about animal behaviour, how we can monitor and collect information on animal behaviour and how this can be used to help inform conservation and management initiatives. To find out more about conservation behaviour and how behaviour can be practically applied to conservation issues, read my posts about the first conference I attended!

As part of the Master course we went on a field trip to Doolin and Killarney in Co. Kerry. If you have an interest in wildlife and conservation read the daily blog I kept during the trip about important areas of conservation and species of interest that you could see there!

Understanding the legislation that underpins conservation is important. To learn more about this read my short post on the key conservation legislation in place in Ireland.
